The MCA does not endorse Mudi breeders and is not responsible for their breeding practices; however, we encourage our membership to exercise responsible breeding practices by endorsing multiple health tests before breeding. We encourage Mudi buyers to verify that these tests have been done.

CHIC CERF OFA

* CHIC (Canine Health Information Center)
publishes health information specific to each individual breed.
(All official health data is listed - whether passing or failing)

* CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation)
publishes eye clearances
(Sire & Dam must have eyes certified within each year they will be used for breeding,
and BEFORE an actual breeding takes place)

USA Mudi breeders who are MCA members can request their litters be listed on the MCA website. Litter listings will run from the day of the first breeding until 4 months after whelping. The owner of the bitch must provide to the web site administrator the following:

Proof of AKC FSS recordation for the dam and sire

Proof of current health checks of both sire and dam

Proof that the sire and dam were 2 years of age or older at the time of conception

(Refer to the MCA's Code Of Ethics on the Contacts and Links Page)

Direct all inquiries to the Breeder(s).

As a prospective puppy buyer, insist on receiving photocopies of both parent's pedigrees and all valid health certificates from the Mudi breeder of your choice. These health certificates may be from OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals), or PennHip (University of Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program), and CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation).
