Meet Lara!
Lara is a 1 year old Mudi looking for the perfect place to call home. She would be a great active pet or a weekend warrior sport dog. She has done fastcat, barn hunt, and dock diving and loves them. She would be fine as an only dog, but she does well with other dogs with proper introductions. She would prefer a home with a lower number of dogs, she likes having a smaller pack.
She is a typical Mudi in that she does alert bark at changes in the environment, and tends to be barky when she’s excited. She is also a bit of an “I need a minute” Mudi, she takes a second to warm up to new people. She warms up faster when meeting new people outdoors instead of in the house (where there’s more spacial pressure). Once she warms up she loves to snuggle and wants to be touching you at all times, truly the sweetest girl. She would prefer a home with no children or older dog savvy children.
She knows basic commands and walks well on a leash. She is potty trained and clean in the crate. She does well in the crate but can be a bit barky if there’s a lot going on in the home while she’s crated. She can be a little busy in the home, sometimes she needs a tether to remember how to lay down and relax. This is something we’ve worked hard on and shes made good progress, with some patience she usually will eventually find a spot and chill. She would love a home with space to play outside; she’s good off leash once she’s comfortable and loves to romp in the yard and be involved with all the outdoor activities.
She has had some picky eating phases in the past but is currently being a very good eater post-spay so hopefully that continues! Overall Lara is a really sweet girl with a lot of love to give and I know her perfect home is out there
Lara is 1 year old, spayed, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. She is located in Van Buren, IN, but transportation arrangements can be made.
Lara is available for adoption through Far Fetched Dog Rescue. Her adoption fee is $250 and the link to apply is below.
